MCP Server for Copywriting: Connect Copix to Your AI
Copix is an MCP server for copywriting: you add one URL, https://copix.si/mcp, to the AI assistant you already use, and it gains copywriting tools it can call while it writes. In Claude Code and Cursor you connect with an API key. In Claude.ai and ChatGPT you add a custom connector and sign in with your Copix email.
This guide walks through each client. Setup takes a few minutes, and you only do it once per machine.
What is an MCP server for copywriting?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant call tools hosted somewhere else. An MCP server for copywriting gives the assistant writing tools it can call while it works on your draft.
Copix’s copy tools don’t write for you and don’t run a second model. They return guidance and checks. For a launch email, that means the framework that fits the brief and the job of each beat. For a finished draft, it means a list of AI tells with their exact positions. Hooks and story structures work the same way. Your assistant does the writing with that in hand. With Copix Complete, there is also an SEO tool for choosing target queries and auditing pages, paid with credits.

You need a Copix plan. Both plans include every copy tool, and Copix Complete adds the SEO engine. The plans are on the pricing section.
To create a key, sign in at copix.si and open /app/setup (“Connect your AI”). The key is shown once, so copy it before you close the page. You can create one key per machine or client and revoke any of them later.
How do you connect Copix to Claude Code?
Run this in your terminal, with your key in place of YOUR_KEY:

Start a new Claude Code session and run /mcp to see the server and its tools. Then ask for something that needs them, for example: “Write a launch email for my course using the right framework, then run the humanize check on it.” Claude Code will call copy_framework, write the draft, and call humanize on the result.
How do you connect Copix to Cursor or VS Code?
Both read a JSON config. In Cursor, open ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or the MCP section of the settings). In VS Code, use .vscode/mcp.json in your project. Add Copix to the mcpServers block:

If the file already lists other servers, add the copix entry next to them instead of replacing the block. Reload the window, and the tools appear in the MCP list. In VS Code, the tools are used from the chat in agent mode.
Keep the key out of version control. If .vscode/mcp.json is committed in a shared repo, use a user-level config instead, or add the file to .gitignore.
How do you connect Copix to Claude.ai and ChatGPT?
Claude.ai and ChatGPT don’t take a pasted header. They connect through a sign-in flow (OAuth) instead, so there is no key to copy.
In Claude.ai, open the connector settings, choose to add a custom connector and enter https://copix.si/mcp as the URL. Claude opens a Copix sign-in page. Enter your email, follow the link Copix sends you, and approve the access screen. The connector then shows up in your chats, and you can turn it on for a conversation from the tools menu.
ChatGPT works the same way: add a connector with the same URL, sign in with your Copix email, and approve.
Your usage counts against the same account whether you connect with a key or by signing in.
What can you ask once Copix is connected?
You don’t need to name the tools. Describe the job and the assistant picks them:
- “Give me six hooks for a LinkedIn post about switching from monthly to annual billing, then score them.”
- “Map this sales page draft onto a framework and tell me which beats are missing.”
- “Turn these notes into a short founder story for an email. Ask me for any details you’d otherwise invent.”
- “Check this post for AI tells and fix only the lines that have them.”
On Copix Complete, you can also ask it to choose a target query for a post, check a draft before publishing, or audit a live page. Those calls spend SEO credits, and the assistant can check your balance and the price of each action first. The SEO section lists what each action costs.
Do you need an MCP server to write better copy with AI?
No. If you write a few pieces a month, a good prompt and a careful edit get you most of the way. The guides on copywriting frameworks, hooks and AI tells contain the same rules the tools use, and you can apply them by hand.

FAQ
Which AI assistants work with Copix?
Any client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP. Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Claude.ai and ChatGPT are covered in this guide. Other clients that accept a URL and an authorization header should work with the same settings.
Does Copix see or store my drafts?
Copix doesn’t store the drafts or URLs you send. It keeps only metadata, like sizes and digests, for usage records.
Do the copy tools cost credits?
The copy tools are included in both plans with no usage limit. Only the SEO tool on Copix Complete spends credits.
What happens if my key leaks?
Revoke it in /app/setup and create a new one. A revoked key stops working right away, and the other keys on your account keep working.
Can I use Copix on more than one computer?
Yes. Create one key per machine or client, so you can revoke one without touching the others.
